Voodoo Doughnuts
Seattle, WA

Originally established as an iconic Portland concept, Voodoo Doughnut has grown into a cultural phenomenon celebrated for its eccentricity and unforgettable treats. DWS Co was proud to bring this beloved brand to Seattle with the opening of its newest location on Capitol Hill.

Our design approach embraced the brand's signature blend of industrial grit and playful pop art. Exposed brick walls, vibrant artwork, and glowing neon create a lively, immersive experience. Strong influences from Voodoo's flagship Old Town Portland store shine through in the raw, unfinished surfaces, ensuring the space feels authentic while celebrating the unexpected.

One key feature we developed was a stained-glass effect in the transom windows. Inspired by the hand-painted stained glass in Voodoo's original Portland store, we reinterpreted this element to complement the site specific industrial architecture. Vibrant color blocking in the windows introduces a dynamic spectrum of light to the interiors and provides a playful backdrop for the exterior signage.

As the design partner for all Voodoo Doughnut locations, DWS Co translated the brand's essence into a fresh, Seattle-centric setting while preserving its unmistakable vibe. Capitol Hill's dynamic energy and artistic community provided the perfect backdrop for this newest addition. The store stands as a testament to the power of design in amplifying a brand's story and delivering memorable experiences for its customers.
This project honors the roots of an iconic concept while marking an exciting step forward as Voodoo Doughnut expands into new markets. From raw details to vibrant flourishes, every element reflects the brand's spirit and invites Seattleites to step inside and experience the unexpected.
