Contract Buyer Job Description
DWS Co is looking for a Buyer to join our growing team on a part-time contract basis. This position will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of project types including retail, hospitality, and multi-family residential design across the country.
We are seeking candidates with a buyer or sourcing background who are exceptionally strong in data management, thrive in detail-driven work, and have excellent interpersonal and project coordination skills. This person will be responsible for placing and tracking orders across a diverse portfolio of interior design projects. Responsibilities include collecting quotes, compiling pricing comparisons, purchasing, managing delivery logistics, and collaborating closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders from order through delivery.
One of the most critical skills for this role is the ability to work quickly and accurately across a high volume of purchases and data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous setting, and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities at once. They should be highly organized, process-driven, and comfortable working within evolving systems and processes.

Responsibilities
Purchasing activities such as establishing trade accounts, collecting quotes, issuing purchase orders to suppliers, working closely with suppliers to ensure on-time production of custom goods, and tracking items to delivery
Accurate and timely data management and across multiple projects
Support and work closely with internal teams to understand project needs and execute against requirements
Collaborate with Third Party Logistics supplier to track inventory, support project installs, and manage through exceptions
Coordinate with our Sourcing Director tracking purchases against project budgets and requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in procurement, sourcing, business, economics, or related field
2–4 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, supply chain management, project coordination, or a similar role
Proven ability to work quickly, manage large volumes of information, and maintain high accuracy under pressure
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines
Self-motivated, adaptable, and proactive team player
Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth, or entrepreneurial environments a plus
Software Proficiencies:
Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
Experience with Fohlio preferred, not required
